CHASING JUMPING RABBITS
there`s something in the room
but it slips my eye
I have to find it soon
because I don't know why
so I will keep on looking
for it in any way
under the heavens of doom
it's always in my back
changing shape at will
it keeps me off my track
And never pays the bill
I turn around the corner
to see my shadow fade
have I become lost again
anything I want to
anything I hope for
anything I fear of
I try to overcome
I see it moving quick
feels like to be the clown
so I pick up the brick
to smash it down
I'm chasing jumping rabbits
to win the dragon's heart
as a gift for the queen
I face it in the dark
any moment now
it's just a tiny spark
I might catch it somehow
go deeper into the maze
to find my rightful place
It should work out this time
anything I take in
anything I leave out
anything I part with
is what I try to love

see the people splashing
taste the ice cream cold
smoke some fancy cigarettes
feel the buildings around
bite the sugar pink cherry
take a look in the two shaded mirror
surpass each other in the pool
heat up on the bricks later
maybe there`s someone
looking from his room
watching all he can
waiting there to bloom
skate the frozen water
brake and make some snow
turn around in circles
there is music in the air
rest next to the heating
eat french fries but without ketchup
mind the big black clock
advancing way too fast
feelings all around
hidden behind the curtains
lost in eternity
is it you or me?
maybe no one`s there
gone for another place
remembered as a sound
still sometimes to be around

MAROONED CONTINUITY
they became aware - their spirit touched ground
they found themselves bare - no way around
the rabbit was unconscious - it was out of the game
the pirate with one eye - waved them kindly goodbye
the spider gave advice - to always look twice
the frog was all alone - so it asked to postpone
the rabbit was asleep - he had taken the leap
the sirens teasing voices - did not leave them any choices
but I will remain for good
may try to rest in peace
and a year to you means a day to me
it doesn`t count for real
the dog lived all in ruins - only rage in its veins
the cat was way too fat - it didn`t care at all
the rabbit out of sight - it tried to take the blame
icy winds led them to places - no clues nor any traces
the horse had lost its shoe - running after its luck
the chicken they were free - just unable to see
the rabbit got erased - to vanish into glory
they tried so many ways - to reach a happy place
so anything that follows
is out of reach from here
and I wonder why, I will never die
let`s play another round

hiding inside the shell
roaming through my solitude
lost treasures are my interlude
drifting in the currents
dancing with the starfish
there are falling ships from the sky
watching with fear in my eye

reaching for the borderline
that separates your world from mine
burns my skin down to the bone
my heart feels like a sinking stone

a spellbound is now up to me

I like to talk to myself
even on the telephone
I should not try to follow
the footprints I just made
I have to close both of my eyes
so I can see clear for now
when you look at me,
everything falls in place
I often feel completely alone
even in the busiest crowd
I feed on someone else's emotions
although the lead into a trap
and everyone I use to see
seems to remain an unknown soul to me
when you touch my heart
everything will stand still
I have to travel into the future
to arrive at the day ahead
and then I reach a distant shore
to realize I have been here before
I want to find the matching key
make me believe that It`s up to me.
